Leaders’ Lounge with Sweater – Noa

*First and foremost I would like to apologise for some of the blurry images – I have no idea how to fix this.

Klondike, Club Penguin Online Army League Headquarters, – sometimes, to newer players or those outside the loop many major army leaders or veterans can seem scary or inhuman, but what they don’t know is that every single veteran and leader was a newbie at one point in their career. I want to help to fill the gap between these veterans and newbies by looking into their careers from the start, to many iconic moments and memories, to the end. In the first edition of the new Leaders’ Lounge, my very first, and very special guest, and a close friend of mine is the Dark Warriors leader Noa, who has very recently led the Dark Warriors to the grand finals of the March Madness 2020 tournament.

Noa, like many, started her career by being in the right place at the right time on Club Penguin Online. She saw Epic101 recruiting for the Redemption Force and thought it was interesting, and she decided to check them out. This is where her career began, as a member in the Redemption Force in November 2019. In her time in the Redemption Force she quickly worked her way up to moderator and owner positions and had participated in the Redemption Force vs Penguin Defence Force war.

Operation: Red Sea event from November 2019, with noa present.

I could not find any actual pictures of the battles between Redemption Force and Penguin Defence Force due to the complete lack of the Penguin Defence Force showing up to 90% of them, and towards the end of the war – the Redemption Force shut down and merged into the Doritos of Club Penguin, where our hero would spend a while in her career.

From Member to Owner

Noa found herself in the Doritos from the end of November 2019, joining for Colonel – a member rank. She worked her way up through the member ranks and eventually into the moderator ranks. She was very loyal and attended every event – even those very early in the morning or very late at night, she was always there. Her recruiting skills didn’t go unnoticed either, and once she found herself in the moderator ranks, had moved up to the owner ranks and attained Third in Command. That’s right, our hero had went from Colonel in Doritos to Third in Command in the span of around 6-7 weeks. That isn’t easy, with many new recruits being unmotivated to do such tasks, but Noa was different. She wasn’t here for the coins, she was here for the fun and the dedication shows that. She was the example of the perfect troop, who is now an example of a perfect leader.

However, some time after the Christmas Chaos Grand Finals our hero’s journey in Doritos had come to an end, and she opted to join the Dark Warriors for the rank of Third in Command. She knew the Dark Warriors leadership very well, being friends with spi101 and Freezie, and many people from the Dark Warriors were also people who moved from Doritos such as Kyle and Bee. The Dark Warriors was deadly, and looking to be a world power. And for a time, rivaled the Doritos. However, all good things must come to an end and the Dark Warriors closed their doors towards the end of January due to unknown issues, and that left our hero army-less for little over a month. In that time, she just hung around army Discord servers and helped out at events and battles. However, she wouldn’t expect what would happen at the end of February..

The Dark Warriors had opened their doors again with xBee and Romeo at the helm – and Noa had rejoined for “Leader in Training” – this generation of the Dark Warriors would be advised by veterans such as Freezie66, spi101, and Andrew24. At first, they started off well hitting sizes of around 20-30 on Club Penguin Online before the recent surge in players, below is a picture under the Romeo and Bee leadership:

“NOA OWNS” – 8th March

That very same night, promotions were handed out to the Dark Warriors and our hero would be promoted to leader after a 6 month journey! Below, is an extract from her promotion, written by 44Griffman, current Dark Warriors Second-in-Command:

The Second Owner Becoming a Commander is…..

Noa,

Noa has started out like some others in the army in January 2020, as a Third in Command. Noa quickly rose up through into Second in Command and soon became a crucial part of the army. Noa became our bot manager and added bots like SkyNet and the Battle Countdown bot to DM all dark privates about the event that is happening and to tell when the event is respectfully. Without Noa and their bot skills, the Dark Warriors wouldn’t be what it is today.

The first even after the promotion of Noa (and fellow Leader in Training Myra) the Dark Warriors had a total size of 22 – still pretty good, considering this is before the recent surge of players that CPO has been experiencing. The Dark Warriors under the new leadership of Bee, Romeo, Noa and Myra would receive sizes of 20-40+ until the increase in the playerbase…

The Current Day

Instead of going through each Dark Warriors event with Noa at the helm 1 by 1 – which I could easily do as I have too much time – instead I’ll skip to their most impressive event of the last month. Between Noa’s first event as a leader and their March Madness Semi Final vs the Pirates the leadership had changed, Romeo stepped down and Freezie66 had rejoined the Dark Warriors leadership. Together, these 4 leaders would go on to lead a “Golden Age” which is still happening, and the Dark Warriors are hitting anywhere from 70-100+ right now. Truly incredible.

THE DARK WARRIORS HITTING SIZES OF 100+ PRE-BATTLE – DW VS CPPA 2020 MARCH MADNESS!

Clearly, Noa is one of the better leaders to touch the CPPS era of Club Penguin Armies, but I won’t waste your time any further. You’ve read me rambling on about who Noa is, but who better to tell you who she is than Noa herself? I reached out to Noa and asked her for a special, longer interview for the very first edition of the Leaders’ Lounge. Below, you can find this interview.

Without further ado,

Sweater||Noa

Sweater: what has been your absolute favourite moment as a Dark Warriors leader?

Noa: Definitely the 2nd battle against Pirates! In the first battle, we were maxing around 40-50 so going into it we weren’t too confident, but I was surprised at how good we did anyway. The controversy about the 2nd room gave us a rematch and we continued growing. We maxed 100+ and we beat the Pirates in a massive uspet that has been without a doubt our highest point so far!

Sweater: what’s the best part about leading the Dark Warriors?

Noa: I love leading with my friends and knowing that everything is equal. We work very well as a team, and we never make decisions without consulting each other – which I appreciate a lot. As for the army as a whole, I love being able to help provide an environment for people to come online and and share their experiences and make friends.

Sweater: is there any tips you’d like to give to players, or newbies just starting out in armies?

Noa: Please don’t be afraid to ask any questions! We’re here for all you need and and we don’t have any issues answering your doubts or helping you with anything!

Sweater: is there any memorable leaders or soldiers that you will forever remember?

Noa: Lots of them! Everyone in DW is truly incredible and we all play a part in how far we’ve come and I’m really grateful for that ❤

Sweater: do you have any hobbies in real life that you’d like to share?

Noa: I like to play tennis on my free time! I also used to practice ballet when I was around 3, but I dropped it a while ago.

Sweater: do you have any future plans you’d like to share with CPO Army League?

Noa: We’ve got quite a few things coming up for DW, but we’d like to keep it on the low for now.

Sweater: if Dark Warriors had not existed, where would you see yourself now?

Noa: To be honest i’m not 100% sure. When DW shut down I really lost interest in joining any other armies, even though I helped here and there sometimes. However if Dark Warriors never existed I feel like maybe I would’ve joined the Ice Warriors, they’ve got an amazing community and they’ve always been close with us.

Sweater: final question – which question would you like to ask the next guest of Leaders’ Lounge?

Noa: Is cereal a soup?

From the interview we can see Noa is very passionate about leading Dark Warriors – and that is the exact kind of leader you need. You cannot expect to lead an army past 10+ if you aren’t motivated or dedicated or passionate, you must be able to stick with it and that is exactly what Noa has done. Her impressive leading style, and all round nice personality has helped with the Dark Warriors’ success – clearly, Noa is someone many leaders and troops can look up to, with her inspiring story. It’s taken some individuals years and years to do anything remotely impressive, and Noa has came out of nowhere and made a name for herself in 6 months. If that isn’t impressive, I have no clue what is.

Thanks for reading the very first edition of the Leaders’ Lounge. If you have any thoughts or tips for me please direct message me on Discord – all criticism is good criticism. Thank you to Noa for letting me bug her for hours on end with the interview questions and being a good sport.
