Golden Troops Return

Unknown, Golden Troops Capital- Since their death in 2017, many of us CP veterans have flashed back to memories of the great Golden Troops army. As of April 20th, 2020, the Golden Troops have returned once more under a completely new leadership. Continue reading for more information on the return of GT!

In 2010, the Golden Troops were created when both the Golden Warriors and the Sun Troops decided to merge. Under the leadership of Ganger90, Flipper7706, Saiyaman Xc, Sklooperis, and Riotors, the Golden Troops placed 2nd on the CPA Central Top Ten. In the very first generation of the army, they went to war with the Ice Warriors and also made it very far in a CPAC sponsored tournament. Shortly after the tournament, Saiyaman XC retired from the army which began a steady decline and then eventually the army’s death. The army returned for a second generation; however, they were not relevant again until in 2011, the third generation became the Golden Troops golden generation. The army reached sizes of above 50 on Club Penguin and even managed to place first on the Top Ten. Due to the Golden Troops success, the Army of Club Penguin declared war on them which resulted in them dying.

The Golden Troops underwent many attempts of revival by notable army leaders; despite this, the Golden Troops only returned to former success during the summer of 2014. Under the leadership of Jerry, Sercan, Tempah, Lord Pain, Sidie, and Vivek, the Golden Troops were a powerhouse in all three of the major divisions. They reached sizes of above 40 in all three divisions and were the biggest rivals to the premier army of the time, the Dark Warriors of CP. On April 31st, the Golden Troops reached #1 on the Top Ten for the first time ever in that generation. Once the fall season began though, many important leaders retired and the army ceased to exist. The Golden Troops would remain dead for another three years until they were revived once more.

On April 20th, 2020, MightyA was given permission from Golden Troops legend, Sercan, to recreate the famous army. The Golden Troops will be under the leadership of Sachmo and MightyA. Both leaders are Doritos members and are hoping to lead an army of their own now. Due to both of the leaders being in the Doritos, I would expect many Dorito troops will be supporting the Golden Troops at future events. To gain more information about the Golden Troops return, I interviewed MightyA.

Interview with Golden Troops Leader, MightyA

CPOAL: Why have you decided to return the Golden Troops?

MightyA: Well i brought back golden troops because ever since i joined the club penguin army community I always wanted to bring back a legendary army and lead it. At first it was just a small dream, never expected it to happen. Then the whole Doritos Dilemma happened and i wasn’t sure what to do next, the dream came back in my head and this time i wanted to achieve it. Some of my awesome friends from DCP wanted to help and before i knew it it was in motion, I picked the golden troops cause they had a awesome uniform and a lot of people from cpoal really missed the army.

CPOAL: Who will be the leaders of the current generation and how do you expect the army to perform?

MightyA: The only leaders at the moment are me, and 2 of my best buds from DCP, satchmo and fluffy, they have helped me through a lot with this army and they both got a solid amount of army experience. I originally thought the vets i asked perms for, serc and tapdancer, were gonna return but they declined, they had moved on from cpa which i respect. I’m kinda not sure what i expect to be honest, i mean i have a list of goals but realistically for our first few events we’ll probably be around 10-20 max but if we recruit hard enough we can achieve anything.

CPOAL: Do you expect the Golden Troops to get into any conflicts soon with other armies?

MightyA: I don’t think so, i mean a lot of people missed this army and we probably won’t be getting into any trouble till we start hitting big numbers and getting servers, but just in case we do get into any conflict i’ll make sure my troops are prepared for any battle coming our way

CPOAL: Who will the Golden Troops be allying with?

MightyA: Well we have had a few discussions about allying with dcp, but nothing is official yet as they are currently rebuilding rn

CPOAL: Any last comments?

MightyA: If anyone here is reading this and has a dream but not sure about it, don’t hesitate, just do it, i never thought this would happen in my entire life but now im finally here and it feels amazing, if you put in the work you can achieve anything in this community. In this new generation on Club Penguin Online, the Golden Troops are hoping to reach former greatness. Golden Troops leader, MightyA, expects that the army will max around 10-20 during the first couple of weeks; however, he believes the army will grow with the army recruits hard enough. He does not expect for the Golden Troops to be involved in any major conflicts until they have grown. MightyA did say that he has been attempting to form a partnership with the Doritos, but nothing is official yet.

Although both Satchmo and MightyA have high expectations for the army, it will be difficult to become a major army. The army will have to recruit a lot and will need to hire a lot of good owners to help expand the army. If the Golden Troops can grow, they could be major factors during the Summer of 2020 and could be a dark horse in upcoming summer tournaments.
