Klondike, CPO Army League Headquarters- We’ve seen a lot of new armies being created and joining the Club Penguin Online Army League. Club Penguin Online has always had the strongest platform for armies to grow and thrive on, which is why it’s no surprise that there is a constant arrival of new armies. We’ve seen several armies be introduced recently, so we’ll be looking into one of the newest army editions to the league, the Pookies of CPO.
Pookies have been a Club Penguin staple. No matter when you joined Club Penguin, you would always see Pookies. For those of you that might be unsure about what a Pookie is, they are “baby penguins” that dress in cute clothing and are usually holding a Plushie. They can be seen in groups or individually around the island; most commonly in the Pet Shop or town looking to get adopted into a new family. With the uprising of the Pookies of CPO, all Pookies can now have somewhere to call home.

The Pookies were initially created in July 2013 as a small/medium army, and there has been quite a track record for Pookie-related armies. It’s great to see them back again and stronger than ever. The Pookie Army, created by albcoolio and Madi in 2013, was met with criticism and often had enemies such as RPF and Ice Hounds. This wholesome army would eventually shut down due to a loss of interest. This new era of Pookies has been created by a close-knit group of friends because of some not so pleasant experiences in Redemption Force. Users kacy65, adrewenn, happycarrot2, and sar123456 all came together to create the Pookies of CPO on April 14, 2020 and were quickly made official about a week later on April 22nd.

Pookies of CPO’s first event where they maxed 10
The Pookies were able to max 10 at their first event and now have over 35 members in their discord server.
To get more insight into this new army, we interviewed one of creators, Kacey.
Interview with Pookies of CPO leader, Kacey65
CPOAL: Could you tell us about yourself and perhaps some of the experience you’ve had with armies?
Kacey: I’m Kacey (penguin user: kacey65) I’ve been on cpo for about 2 years now. me and my friends: drew (adrewenn), Rachel (happycarrot2) , and Sarah (sar123456) have been friends on CPO for a while and decided to make pookies of CPO together. We just wanted to have some fun and to make more friends. Also, I just really missed pookies on club penguin and all that (lol). I didn’t like how in some armies I joined how it was controlling and/or pushy towards myself or others.
CPOAL: That’a great! You said you felt that some armies you’ve experienced in the past tend to be a little “controlling” how will pookies of CPO be different and differ from that kind of environment?
Kacey: Our army is based off of positivity and kindness. The way we treat our army is the way we would treat out friends and family. We want everyone to feel comfortable and feel accepted. Like, if you can’t make it to something or be active for everything, like we understand, we’re not gonna push you to do stuff you don’t want to or can’t. We’re very understanding and respectful towards others lives outside and inside of cpo and our army.
CPOAL: It’s great that you all want to create an inviting atmosphere for your members and I’m sure a lot of other armies strive to do the same! What more can you tell us about what you have in store for the future of pookies in respect to growing the army and standing out amongst the many new small/medium armies?
Kacey: We have lots of fun activities and events planned! It’s going to be like what it was like before when pookies were around more (like fashion shows, etc). But we also want to make sure our future plans are based on what the community wants and we want to make sure they’re involved!
CPOAL: It seems like you have a really great plan for pookies and hopefully we’ll see this army continue to grow, do you have any final comments you would like to share with the CPOAL community?
Kacey: I’d like to share to just have some fun online during all of this corona stuff!
It seems no matter how long it’s been or what happens to Club Penguin, Pookies will always be a part of our community. A lot of armies put their efforts on getting more troops, becoming stronger, and conquering land. However, the Pookies of CPO seem to be more focused on having fun and being a positive atmosphere for all those who join.
At the end of the day, Club Penguin Online and its armies are meant to be a space for everyone to have fun and enhance their experiences. Those values are without a doubt seen within this army.

What do you think the future holds for the Pookies of CPO? Do you think they’ll be able to climb the top ten ranks and perhaps even conquer some land of their own? Let us know your thoughts by commenting!
