Into The Time Machine: Army Republic

TOBOGGAN, Former AR Empire – On the first edition of Into The Time Machine, we have an army with a fabled and rich history, woven by legends and myths. The Army Republic is the topic of discussion in the newly rejuvenated “Into The Time Machine”.

Let’s step into the time machine.

The Army Republic was created on August 14th, 2007 by Mr. Geggie and 122344a. The creation story of AR is a rather unique one, Geggie had an idea of creating a new army, but he could not put into action himself. He told his friend, 122344a about his idea and they were able to clash ideas together and create the Army Republic. The duo recruited extremely hard, and come September they were already faced with their first war, facing the Sun Clan. In the first battle, the Sun Clan’s troops depleted throughout the battle, and they ended up retreating to the town. This forced a clear victory for the Army Republic, the first of many throughout their immense history. AR saw a sharp decline in the next years, following the disappearance of creator 122344a.

During a comeback in 2010, AR was roaming Club Penguin and came across an ally, The Squids of CP, who had a common enemy, the Army of Club Penguin. 122344a returned to AR during this time and was able to convince Squids leader, Burritodaily to join the Army Republic. However, AR soon faced a downfall when 122344a stepped down to an advisor role in the beginning of 2011. Later on in that year, AR was revived once more, with the addition of Vinny, but despite their efforts, they soon fell again.

In April of 2012, Vinny and 122344a came together to create the 122344a Doctrine, which was in place to keep the Army Republic alive for as long as possible. This doctrine consisted of strict rules to enforce positive behavior from the troops themselves.

1. We limit what armies you take part in or join.

2. Whenever you are on xat, you must be on AR chat or face demotion.

3. All leaders must give a 3-day notice before they retire the army.

4. Ranks must be tended to daily.

5. All troops shall listen to orders

6. Leaders are in charge of events, and not the soldiers.

It was 2013 when things took a turn for the worse for the Army Republic. They were faced with immense turmoil inside the army caused by Capncook, Lbk, and Austin who were troop stealing from AR for their own army. The final straw was issued by the Dark Warriors, who were a World Power at the time. Leaders Vinny and Burritodaily struggled to even make it on their computers to defend their land, leaving it up to the owners. Soon after this war, AR’s biggest rival, the Light Troops made a return to Club Penguin Armies and declared war on AR out of the gate. This sent AR spiralling down, only to be saved by a meeting between Vinny and Burritodaily. They emphasised loyalty into their new soldiers, and made sure to get revenge on LT, declaring war on them and leaving them with only 1 remaining server.

In the summer of 2013, AR went to war with ACP, following a raid of Breeze. They took advantage of Australian divisions to invade servers from ACP. The Underground Mafias Army soon joined in against ACP, forcing ACP to surrender.

Towards the end of that year, the Army Republic endured a long war with the Rebel Penguin Federation, one in the end of the summer and one in the end of the year.

AR vs RPF during the Battle of Beanie – September 2014

The year of 2014 began with many hardships for AR. They were faced with multilogging accusations and were forced into war against much bigger armies than themselves. They were thrown into a war with the Doritos and the Dark Warriors. They saw the loss of long time duo “Vindaily” due to retirement, and were shutdown for the rest of 2014.

A year later, they announced a return to the community. They grew in size in an attempt to become a stable force in the community once more. They saw leaders join and leave throughout this era and closed out this year with a war with familiar foe, the RPF. The war waged on for months with no end in sight. The war soon ended and AR went up against another big name in the community in the next year, the Water Vikings. AR was never really able to keep up with these armies, though, due to the huge sizes these armies would get.

The year 2016 was filled with Practice Battles as the Army Republic did not want to go down a road of tough battles. However, they could not stay away from war for long, facing RPF, Teutons, Kings, and Nachos. This led up to the year 2017.

Like numerous other armies, the Army Republic returned one last time, for a final event due to the closing of Club Penguin. They saw the return of many familiar legends and past leaders to all come together to celebrate this history and legacy of the Army Republic. They reached sizes of 55 on Club Penguin, with over 75 in their chatroom. They were ranked as the 11th best army of all time by CPA Central upon closure in 2016.

Opinion

It is no mystery that the Army Republic had a long, extensive history filled with many battles which in most times they were outnumbered. The resiliency of AR and its leaders is something that can still be remembered to this day. The Army Republic had created a family during their tenure, and they were able to see the return of many people who were there from day 1 until the ultimate bittersweet ending of their legacy. Often times AR was outmatched, but they did not fold and were able to reach high rankings on the Top 10s and win wars nobody expected them to win. The ideals and leadership styles throughout their history can still be seen throughout the community today.
