UNKNOWN CAPITAL, One Direction Army Terrirory – With all the new armies coming into CPO:AL recently, we also witness the opening of future S/M powerhouse the One Direction Army. What will this new army bring to the table? Will they mesh well with existing armies? Most importantly, what is the future looking like?
The One Direction Army was created on April 29th, 2020 by Aubriex0x0, TheEmoLatina23, Mare, and Crunkk. The army is inspired by the real life counterpart, the former band “One Direction,” and much like the band in real life, the Army has found some success right off the bat, hitting 11 at their opening event late April. The One Direction army started off as a meme between friends, but in the short time they’ve been alive it’s become so much more, the army prides itself on having fun and being friends, and they’re doing an excellent job:

As we can see above, the One Direction army have had a great start – already reaching sizes of 11. Could this army be one for the top? We’ll have to wait to see.
Since their return event, the One Direction army have held a few more events, reaching maximum sizes of around 7-10. Not too bad for a small-medium army. Lots of armies have came back or been created, and have struggled but One Direction aren’t, and they’re having lots of fun doing so.
I decided to grab an interview with Mare, one of the creators and leaders of One Direction, and it can be found below:
CPOAL: what inspired you to create the One Direction army?
Mare: Personally, I have always loved One Direction and their music. My inspiration honestly was further than just One Direction though, I loved the idea of sharing music with other people and them sharing their music with me. This is because I feel like music brings people together and I wanted to create a super fun positive environment. Also, seeing a bunch of directioners in one chat uniting is just beyond unbelievable!
CPOAL: what are your goals with One Direction?
Mare: Our major goal for our army has always been to provide a fun/safe place for our members. We want to create an enviornment where people can meet others who enjoy music together and of course One Direction. Other goals we have is seeing growth in our members, becoming better leaders, and possibly becoming a major army.
CPOAL: what are your thoughts on the leadership?
Mare: We are all passionate, active, loyal, and are constantly communicating with one another. We all want to develop and grow as leaders together and we are still learning. I’m confident each one of us have unique qualities which add great value to our army and its growth/development.
CPOAL: Thank you! That’ll be all, are there any final comments you’d like to make?

As we can see from the above interview, Mare is very hopeful and ambitious with her new army – and rightly so. Performing so well in so little time is no small feat, and Mare and the rest have done a great job outlining that, you know, this is Club Penguin, a game built for fun. Sometimes, it’s important to remember during the midst of all these invasions that that’s what armies’ true purpose is, for fun, and I think we should all really be thanking them, for reminding us of this fact.
