Leader’s Lounge with Neo – Regan

SUB ZERO, Ice Warriors Capital – With the new server map up and running, many armies have already started making advances to expand their territory. Today on Leader’s Lounge, I sat down with Regan to get the scoop on his leadership at Ice Warriors.

Regan has been part of Ice Warriors for a very long time. It has always been the army he calls home and the army he is most loyal to. Regan first joined the Ice Warriors in 2010 prior to the Club Penguin shut down. From 2010 to 2015, he ranked his way up from a new troop to 2^nd in Command. At this time, he was under the leadership of tes7, KingFunks, albcoolio, and gtsud who all lead Ice Warriors in 2015. He mentioned that his favorite memory during this time was winning the Legends Cup.

The Ice Warriors have won three Legends Cups in the time the Regan was with them in 2010 to 2015. They won the second ever annual Legends Cup against the Ninjas and went on to win it again the following year against the Army Republic, making them the first army to ever win a Legends Cup back to back. They also won the Legends Cup in 2014 against the Nachos.

Regan was also the former 2^nd in Command for the Water Vikings, but mentioned to me that even while with other armies, they were never as enjoyable as being with the Ice Warriors. This was also in 2015 and only lasted about sixth months before he decided to take his leave of Club Penguin armies.

He recently returned to armies in February of this year when his country of Ireland went into lockdown due to Covid-19. He does, however, state that he plans to stick around even when quarantine is over. Regan was made leader back in April when the current leadership team decided he was ready to make the step up from Leader in Training and start working with them as an official leader.

Since Regan’s return, he has noted that a lot has changed regarding the community of Club Penguin armies. He mentioned that the switch from Xat to Discord was probably the biggest change that this community experienced, along with the addition of a more structured league. Both are something he considers to be good changes for the future of armies in general.

I got an exclusive interview with Regan to get the latest on how his leadership with the Ice Warriors has been going.

CPOAL: You’ve been with the Ice Warriors for a very long time. What has made you feel so loyal to them all these years?

Regan: It was my first army, over the years I’ve made many friends many of whom I still keep in touch with, I couldn’t imagine being in another army and even when I was I didn’t like it as much as the Ice Warriors.

CPOAL: What was it like coming into this current established leadership team?

Regan: It was nice. We’d just come out of war with DCP [23 – 3] and was in what I’m calling the cooldown phase for us. It gave me the chance to learn more from my fellow leaders. Knowing what they’ve done for this community and for them to allow me to step up and finally take charge of my army, I couldn’t have asked for better leadership team.

CPOAL: You guys are arguably one of the strongest armies on CPO, was there any pressure coming into leadership that you felt you had to uphold given the army’s success recently?

Regan: Well yes and no. Yes, because as you said, one of the strongest armies in CPO and the most legendary from the CPA era, so following names such as Icey and Drew does come with added pressure. And no because as said before we were going through a little cooldown phase and with the support from the best troops in any army, I feel confident in leading IW to victory in any war or tournament.

CPOAL: What are your plans now that the new server map is out?

Regan: That’s classified.

CPOAL: Haha, okay. What are your plans going forward for the Ice Warriors?

Regan: Same as any other leader, continue building our empire on the new map, recruiting as many troops as possible while maintaining a fun army and most importantly, Keeping the Ice Warriors as a name to make armies fear.

CPOAL: And finally, is there anything else you’d like to say to the CPOAL community?

Regan: i vibe all day i vibe all night i vibe till the end of daylight

It is clear that the Ice Warriors have some pretty big plans now that they’ve brought on new leadership. Regan was not the only leader they added to their roster after the war with DCP. Madhav2 was also brought on board to help lead the army on their next endeavors, which the Ice Warriors have been quite tight lipped about.
