Golds Turned to Ice

FLIPPERS, Golds Empire Capital – One of the most iconic and legendary armies, Golds Empire, merged into the Ice Warriors on the 15th of May 2020. This was later announced by Flamez on the 16th of May in a post on the Golds website.

Originally, the Golds Empire were created on the 10th of May 2007 by Johanwillfir. He led with Fly4life, his friend, who would build up the Golds army to what they were known for. The Golds were known for having a big rivalry with the Nachos, due to the war they fought in April 2009. It is fair to say that the Golds army were a strong force, with leaders such as Andrew24 and Lildrew Jr2 in the ranks.

Throughout the entire history of the Golds Empire, they have had many notable leaders. This, in affect, led to many generations of success. These notable leaders include; Andrew24, Antonio960, Taco Daily, and saW.

The most recent generation of the Golds started on the 2nd of April 2020. Leaders that took part in this revival were Bay and Pink. Pineapple also joined the Golds leadership near the end of the generation. The Golds Empire maxed 55+ on their first return event of the new generation, which is remarkable. By the end of the month, 28th of April, they were maxing an average of 65-70.

It seemed as those Bay was determined from the minute that she decided to revive the Golds Empire. Bay stated the following at the start of the new generation:

“I wanted to start a new army, an army where everyone can feel welcome in. Just a place to meet new people, have fun with their friends, and create new and enjoyable memories.”

I am sure that there were definitely a lot of memories created among troops and leaders in this generation of the army. The Golds Empire decided to merge into the Ice Warriors on the 15th of May 2020. The reason behind this seemed to be due to the sudden closure of Club Penguin Online. To get more information on the matter, I decided to interview Bay.

Interview with former Golds leader, Bay.

CPAL: First of all, well done on leading the latest generation of the Golds army. What made you revive them originally?

Bay: Thank you! I was leading Pirates at the time, and I really wanted to build my own army and community. My good friends Andrew and Flamez suggested this special army.

CPAL: How successful did you expect this generation to become at the start?

Bay: I knew I would have a tremendous amount of support from all my friends, but I did not expect to max 80+! That was the best event we had, but our average max was about 55-60 consistently, which is better than I could have asked for considering we were only alive for less than 2 months.

CPAL: What made you come to the decision to merge into Ice Warriors?

Bay: With CPO shutting down, I knew recruiting would get a lot harder. I knew I would lose a lot of members, and that would cause a lot of stress for my community when seeing our numbers go down. Since we were extremely close with the IW family from the start, why not merge with them and stick together?

CPAL: Finally, do you believe that the Golds could return in the future?

Bay: It’s hard and sad to say, but I’m really not sure, considering the situation with all CPPS. However, Golds will always be my favorite army and it is the army that allowed me to build such a strong, loving, and united community. Golds and our memories will always be here in our hearts.

As you can tell from the interview above, the Golds Empire decided to merge mainly due to Club Penguin Online shutting down. On a lighter note, the Golds did achieve some fantastic numbers in their latest generation, reaching sizes of 80+. What is a certainty, however, is that the Golds will go down forever in the history of Club Penguin armies.
