Tree Cult And Squires: The End of an Era

SLUSHY, CP Army League HQ – During the past week, multiple armies have closed, merged or died with Club Penguin Online. The Tree Cult and Squires have decided to merge and create a army/clan on Box Critters. Continue reading!

On May 10, 2020 the Tree Cult and Squires decided to merge and create a Box Critters army/clan since it would be harder to recruit on CP Rewritten as they do not allow armies and will ban anyone they see recruiting.

Tree Cult history written by its leader:

Tree Cult was created by QwertyFusion on February 11, 2020. TC became official successfully on February 21 , 2020 with a member strategy of 10 at our first event! AlphaLaura from DW and QwertyFusion from DW and IW had made Tree Cult grow miraculously.

– First Tree Cult Event

TC joined IUA on the day they became official. TC were invited by BestPenguin and started to grow further even maxing 20 in some events and once even Maxing 27! IUA helped TC with all their heart and we became friends with all the armies there.Being in IUA was good as well as TC had some disadvantages. TC had fought many big armies though losing the battles, but the ones with Smaller armies had been competitive and TC won many! AlphaLaura at the end of February left the Leadership of the Tree Cult and became dedicated to DW when they returned. Since then QwertyFusion was leading Tree Cult alone and lead the First Generation with all his efforts and nearly no other leaders to help but a team of staff! TC ended after they had taken some wrong steps that made them fall to a max of 10 members in events. But as soon TC was closed, QwertyFusion got messages from members and staff telling him to bring back the Tree Cult. TC came back in a few days and selected Ugly and Travis as Leaders. Soon, HawkFlight, Cad Bane and Max became the new leaders and helped TC with everything! TC were going smooth and even some members helped TC max 20 in an invasion event and TC was growing at full rate.

The sudden closure of CPO shocked all of CPOAL and TC were to move to CPATG when there was a discussion with Leaders, made TC come to the conclusion to change Tree Cult into a friends server for the later part! TC will currently be playing every game together and thus grow the community. TC might return someday if we think it would be a good move. It will mark the new era of Tree Cult, but its just an assumption.

Squires history written by its leader:

Squires was created by Lep in early January 2020 on CPO. It was made to support those who cannot attend every event- Squires did not give punishments for members not showing up to events. Squires also hosted occasional events and built up a great community. Harry (Complainer24) and Sleepy helped Lep lead before resigning and Lep was left to lead alone. Squires claimed a lot of land and became part of the IUA until it shut down. Then, Squires built a good alliance with the Ice Warriors and helped them defend their land against the NDA and that leads Squires to today!

Interview with QwertyFusion, Tree Cult creator

CPAL: Why did the tree cult decide to close its doors instead of moving to CPATG with the other armies?

QwertyFusion: We had decided to move to CPATG with other armies, I am really happy that there was a chance to keep the CP Armies community! But I found that not many come to our events and also recruiting will be tough. Also, while CP was over, members didn’t find the fun of being in a CP Army as they can add coins onto themselves easily. Thus we decided to stop moving to CPATG with other armies. If ever we want, I hope we can return if the situation supports us!

CPAL: how did it feel when Club Penguin Online announced its closure?

QwertyFusion: When Club penguin Online announced it will close, everyone including me felt heart broken but we thought that there was time till 31st but when CPO closed suddenly, it was tough for us to accept the situation. Many could not even tell their CPO friends goodbye for the last time.

CPAL: Did you want to close the Tree Cult?

QwertyFusion: It’s not solely my thought but a decision of the current Leaders with me. I do feel bad for closing the Tree Cult, but we do never know if we come back anytime. So we will be playing other games and be a fun server till then!

QwertyFusion: Yes I thank the whole CPAL community and also CPO and CPR and all other CPPS to make our childhood and even our current age with fun and happy memories. Also I praise the Board and everyone for their hard work to keep the whole community up. At last I would say nothing but, WADDLE ON PENGUINS!

Interview with Squires creator, Lep

CPAL: Why did the Squires decide to close its doors instead of moving to CPATG with the other armies?

Lep: Squires decided to close along with Tree Cult due to the fact that CPATG may be soon to shut down and we did not want our armies to be involved with any legal issues. Instead we will move to a Box Critters army however our armies will remain open to play other games on.

CPAL: How did it feel when Club Penguin Online announced its closure?

Lep: I was upset and I didnt know that this would lead to the Squires closure but it was only a matter of time to be fair. It was being insulted and people were leaving. They needed to find a way around it and unfortunately that way did not work for me as a leader

CPAL:Did you want to close the Squires?

Lep: It was hard for me to close Squires however what needs to be done must be done. Our new Box Critters army may support our army structure better as Box Critters is an original game whereas CPPSs are fan made creations but QwertyFusion and I are merging our 2 armies into it so hopefully it will get a strong start.

Lep: Yes, thanks to all the memories you all brought. It was a fabulous experience leading a Club Penguin Army and hopefully Squires and Tree Cult can rise to their former glory. I have thorougly enjoyed being an army leader and I am sure this is not that last you will see of Lep!
