ALASKA, CP Army Hub Headquarters – Executive Producer Max, the Army Hub’s rendition of Aunt Arctic, answers your burning questions.
How does CPAH operate behind the scenes?
Dear Reader,
When I quizzed my fellow admins on this question, Chief-Executive-Officer Pookie offered the answer: “Mostly Pookie crying himself to sleep every night while he begs Zamb for graphics and tries to kiss Max”. But don’t worry, while this isn’t completely untrue, I’m here to tell you what really happens behind the scenes.
In regards to the media aspect, we have a dedicated team of Reporters and Reporter Trainee’s that work hard to publish the news topics. When they have finished, our Associate Producers and Editor-in-Chiefs will edit their work for content and grammar before publishing it and pinging you all on the Army Hub Discord server. Feedback and ratings are also provided to the Reporters, to help them improve on their writing. Alongside these duties, the AP’s and EiC’s have their weekly columns to manage, as well as hunting for those juicy active topics.
In terms of the administration, we work hard to keep the daily running of the Army Hub website, events and league aspect, while also solving the copious amount of issues and problems we face. And we’re not exempt from reporting work either, as we have a monthly post minimum to obtain and our own columns to keep up with.
We’re lucky enough to have a variety of talented individuals in the Army Hub team, all of whom piece together like a jigsaw to create a well oiled machine. But more than that, we work together to serve and better the community and the experience of those in it. If one of us needs a short break, the others will gladly step up and help a brother, or sister, out.

What safety measures are there to stop raids of Discord servers?
Dear Reader,
A great question, especially given the recent spike in raids. For more information on this specific issue, I would like to direct you to a dedicated post made by Editor-in-Chief Sarahah. She details several ways to combat Discord raids, including the establishment of a verification setting. These levels of protection are categorised by low, medium, high and highest, and offer increased levels of protection for your server. For example: the ‘Medium’ level requires the user to be registered on Discord for 5 minutes to join the server, in addition to a verified email. I would advise this be your first port of call, and please read the full article for more information!

Why can armies who declare war make the all the revisions and rules of said war?
Dear Reader,
This is not entirely true. As per the Army Hub league rules, you would be right in thinking the declaring army does decide the initial war terms. However, the defending army may counter declare war with additional terms, although these terms must not contradict the war terms of the declaring war. So really, while the invading army has a slight advantage, both armies have influence over war terms.

With the recent shut-downs of certain armies, has this worried you that the community will slowly be falling?
Dear Reader,
This is an interesting question, and one people have been asking for the past 14 years. Who would have predicted in 2017, when the original shutdown of Club Penguin occurred, that 2020 would be a “golden age” for this community? Absolutely no one! The activity and prosperity of the army community has always fluctuated, whether that be by year or even by season. But one thing is for sure, while there are people here and friendships alive, the community will continue to be as resilient as ever.

How do you select Reporters and Discord Moderators?
Dear Reader,
If you are interested in applying for either of these positions, please fill out an application on the Apply page. For Reporters, we require to see some written evidence to gain an understanding of how well you can write, but we take on the vast majority of people as we love to help people improve. In regards to Discord Moderators, past experience in a moderating role, whether that be news organisation, army, or any other Discord server non-CPA related. But not only this, you’ll have a higher chance of getting the job if you’re an active and trustworthy person in the community, as this position holds significant power and responsibility.
