Legend Inductions & Revotes: September 2020

ALASKA, CP Army Hub Headquarters – Due to growing demand for reform on the legends page, in an effort to ensure that the title of CP Army Legend remains valued, CP Army Hub has taken the decisions to revote on some individuals voted onto the legends page and create a process that will ensure that future inductions are accurate and legitimate. This post outlines the individuals reallocated or removed from the legends page, as well as some individuals that have been nominated.

CP Army Hub have decided to take over legend inductions, and take full responsibility for the individuals listed on our page, as we feel that the process that is currently being used is not robust, leading to some individuals being inducted to the title of legend who clearly should not be there. Most notably, there is an issue with some people being added who are much better suited to being a small and medium army legend, given the armies they led. We want to emphasise that a ‘legend’ is someone that has made a unique, considerable or lasting impact on the community. They should not be someone that has accomplishments matched by many others, they must stand out from the crowd. We want the people on this page to be respected, and to ensure that the credibility of the title is maintained for years to come. Additionally, we have agreed that no more individuals will be revoted on after this month as this is part of the reason why the page lost credibility.

As part of the repair of the legends page, we have combined together the CPPS Army legends list and CPA legends list from CPA Central, to show the full history of CP Army Legends and have it all in one place. To show more recent history, the page is in descending order with more recent years at the top. As every year has now been made available, we were able to move some legends from 2019 (Andrew, Mustapha, and Freezie), to more appropriate years that showed when they made the biggest impact. Their biographies, as well as several others, will be rewritten at some point to better summarise the impact that they had. The Legends page will be edited over the coming month and will be fully ready to go well before the December inductions.

The new committee that voted on existing legends, and will largely make up the 2020 committee, is made up of 15 individuals, a large enough number to make sure that a small amount of people can not put someone that they like more onto the page. The committee is also made solely of existing CP Army Legends and up to four representatives of CP Army Hub (normally CEOs and Executive Producers). This is to ensure that the people on the committee know what it means to be a legend, and what it takes to be included onto the page. Below are the 15 people that took part in voting for this set of legend inductions:

Committee:

  • Ultipenguinj
  • Koloway
  • Kingfunks4
  • Mchappy
  • Epic
  • Pookie
  • Luciferstar
  • Iceyfeet1234
  • Eden
  • Silverburg
  • Max
  • Dr Mine Turtle
  • Freezie
  • 32op
  • Superhero123

Some people within the committee were not present during the years that some of the people below were voted in for. To overcome this, members of the committee were allowed to abstain if they were unsure. Also, someone that was around in the years voted on would provide a detailed report on what they were inducted for, and the rest of the committee could then give an accurate vote on their accomplishments.

There were no revotes for anyone inducted in 2019, as we deemed that the vast majority of people inducted this year were deserving of the title, and also the process was fair and included public and committee votes. We wanted to ensure that 2018 legends either retained legend or SM legend status, as they were inducted (albeit by a public-only voting system, which is why some have been moved to SM Legend). 2017 legends, however, has been a highly contested year for legend inductions (and one that has been changed numerous times), so a full revote took place. We also revoted on three people that were controversially included onto the page, with some evidence of foul play towards the end of CPA Central’s existence. Below are the revotes on selected individual legends, as well as new inductions for old and newer CP Army Legends.

Congratulations to the five new inductees, as well as those that have been put onto the SM Legend Page or retained legend status. We hope now that we have provided an accurate list that values the title of legend. Future inductions will follow the same process that I used when working with Boomer as CPA Central CEO, whereby the public will be able to contribute votes towards the committee’s votes. The votes this time around were committee only due to the historical years that were being reviewed.

With that concludes the legend adjustments that took place in September of this year, with some notable inclusions and changes to the page. We look forward to CP Army Hub to the 2020 inductions in December, where we are able to induct people this year that have had a lasting and large impact on the community. We hope that we have given trust in the process and the legends page as a result and that we can induct some leaders and influencers who deserve to have their accomplishments recognized by this prestigious honor.

  1. Not going to lie, as someone who was present through a lot of this history I am kind of upset with the changes to the legends page. I don’t think it should have been messed with. You can’t rewrite history.

  2. Hmmmm, kinda going off of Possum’s comment, I definitely could see where she is coming from. They received legend in the past for things they’ve done, why is it now being removed:( although, i wasn’t here before this year so honestly I don’t know much ab the past legends, but I do agree it probably shouldn’t have been touched. On the other hand, I agree with a majority of the removals/additions so I can’t have much to say >.<

  3. It isn’t so much rewriting history, but the 3 on here voted out are proven to have got on by manipulating the committee system towards the end of CPAC when things were less scrupulous. We want to ensure that everyone on there is deserving.

Revotes have always happened for one reason or another. Hopefully, however, we are now in a position whereby nobody else will be voted out and we have a concrete list.
