Adden Subtracted From Water Vikings Leadership

FROSTBITE, Former Water Vikings Capital – The Water Vikings suffered a huge blow in the evening of November 15th, as Viking Legend and High Council Member Adden announced his retirement from the army. After supporting the army for nearly four months, Adden has hung up his Viking helmet to focus on his real life voyage.

Adden sailed into armies after being recruited by the Army of Club Penguin in 2014. He made an appearance as a Fourth in Command of the Dark Warriors, and as the leader of the Romans and the Golden Guardians. However, the most extensive part of his army career is with the Water Vikings. Adden captained the Vikings during two consecutive Legends Cup Finals, in 2015 and in 2016. Under his leadership, the Vikings rose to the top spot several times in the Top Ten. Adden is one of the prominent leaders during the golden era of the Water Vikings.

On August 20th, Adden returned to the Water Vikings leadership. Under his leadership, the Water Vikings saw a significant rise in their size. The army successfully featured in high positions on the Major Top Ten list, rising above several other major armies. Adden also helped lead the Vikings to victory in the Eagre Foray War against SWAT. The Vikings recently pulled off numerous pulsating victories in the Black Seas War. Last week, they put on a formidable performance and despite hosting only a handful of events, they placed eighth on the Major Top Ten armies list.

In the announcement regarding his retirement, Adden specifies that his life commitments forced his early retirement. He missed leading the Vikings the upcoming Christmas Chaos tournament by a very narrow time period. The retirement meant a lot of nostalgia for a lot of the Vikings who have grown closer to him in these four months. Adden also advised his fellow Vikings to cherish the memories they make with their friends every day.

The Water Vikings, in a gesture of their love for the former leader, dedicated an event to his retirement. The event was another practice battle against the Doritos, in preparation of the upcoming tournament. The Vikings put on a strong performance during the battle and carried out a series of reverent tactics for their leader.

As Adden walked away from his home army, the CP Army Hub team caught up with him for an interview about his retirement.

On your return, you mentioned that you “hope to leave a place that has blossomed into its own community that can continue to grow and prosper for years to come.” Do you feel you have acheived this goal?

I definitely feel that there is a great foundation for a growing community, and I have full faith in our staff to keep the Water Vikings name in high regard around the army community.

You have often been a recipent of several accolades for your contributions to the Vikings every time you led them. Do you think your leadership this time around also matched the heights of your previous stints as leader?

Absolutely. Not only did we manage to match sizes of previous gens, but something that has recently been the most fulfilling is seeing troops developing relationships with each other in chat. Some have even blossomed into great staff members and I’m really excited to see how things pan out for them. (Shoutout to the Dremtem)

Will the Vikings see you return to leadership sometime soon?

Chances are I won’t be coming back to lead, but I plan to be around to give advice and uphold my High Council position.

Do you have a messages to convey to your fellow Vikings and the community in general?

Focus on your army and make it yours. I’ve been in many armies but the Water Vikings are home for me. The friendships I’ve made are friendships I’ll cherish forever. It’s always the little things that you think about looking back, so make sure you make the most of it.

Adden has certainly left his mark on the Vikings once again, with another highly successful time in the army. However, the Water Vikings now find themselves with a vacant position in the leadership right before a tournament. Will a member of their command team step up and take charge of Adden’s responsibilities? It would certainly be interesting to see how the Vikings cope in the tournament in the absence of their leader.

What do YOU think? Can the Water Vikings continue their feat of accomplishing great things in the major army ranks? Will they be able to work their way past this untimely retirement and win the tournament? Let us know in the comments section below!
