Roman Return: Smurf Rejoins Nova Roman Empire Leadership

UNKNOWN TERRITORY, Nova Roman’s Capital – A member of the Nova Roman Empire’s national government has rejoined the leadership only a few weeks after assisting with their return. Will Smurf’s innovative ideas for the army help to push this new generation to greater heights?

The Romans were created in 2006 by Explorer7777. Throughout the years, they were included in various wars and like any other strong army, had their share of highs and lows. The army closed and reopened many times since their birth, but most recently they were revived on July 28th, 2020 by some of the current leaders, Dino and Games. Currently being led by Games, Leila, Meerrkat, Dino, and Smurf, the army has already seen much success with an average max of 10-15 and they have been consistently placing on the S/M Top Ten lists. In addition to those accomplishments, they have also been seen participating in different events, such as practice battles with other armies in the community. Most recently they held a practice battle with the Army of CP’s divisions Echo and Alpha:

Smurf joined the community in 2010 and since then he led multiple notable armies such as the Nachos, Underground Mafias, Romans, as well as holding advisor or higher command positions in a few others armies. Before his latest stint as the leader of the Romans, Smurf led the army in 2017 and 2018, until the army shut its doors sometime in 2018. After much nostalgia, Smurf, alongside Dino, revived the army only a month ago. Regardless of assisting in the revival, he did not hold a leadership position until now. However, he did maintain his position of Consul on the Nova Roman’s national government. During the late hours of August 25th, Smurf, also known as W;P, announced his return to the leadership in the Romans’ server. In his message, he discussed his plan to implementing new ideas in the army and create a brand new era:

With Smurf’s announcement of returning to leadership, he also announced a plan for an ‘Innovative Events Program’. This new program, said by Smurf, is solely created to make Club Penguin events more enjoyable rather than hosting the same style of events as armies have done for years. To learn more the CP Army Hub reached out to one of the current leaders, Smurf, to get his thoughts on his new position!

What are the reasons behind your sudden return to leadership? 

Romans has a very soft spot in my heart, it made me the man I am today. I’ve seen how successful the new Romans generation has been and I wanted to help out so it stays that way. I want to take Romans to the next level with innovative events.

What are you looking forward to most with leading the army?

I’m looking forward to voicing my ideas and creating a community-oriented group that’s similar to what I pictured it could have looked like in 2017. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with my colleagues and making new friends. But most of all I look forward to the innovative events program. Basically we want to go above and beyond the traditional way of hosting events. When I heard about how a long-time friend of mine Ulysses Nardo’s army, the Onlooking Snow Ninjas, did things I realized how much untapped potential the army community has. I believe armies could be doing much more than we are doing now. That’s what this new program will be exploring. What is the limit to the types of events we could be hosting on Club Penguin? How creative can we get with this? Look forward to mini-game competitions, igloo contests, and much more. We hope you join Romans on this new adventure.

What other plans do you have for the Romans going forward? Is there anything else you plan to change or implement within the army?

My #1 plan is to make it a major army, but my initial plan was to encapsulate its true potential and stay true to its over-glorified yet special legacy. I want to continue where I ended, I want to leave it feeling proud. On another note, I am looking forward to our expansion to other games through the Nova Roman Empire™️ which will ensure the Romans legacy stays alive long after the inevitable end of CPPSes. Is there anything else you’d like to add regarding your return to leadership?

If you like Romans, we’re already best friends. If you don’t like Romans, you’re on my hit list. There isn’t much to dislike besides a few superficial things, which is normal among any group. I am looking to have fun, don’t bother joining Romans or talking to me if you aren’t down to have real good fun. Lastly, I love being graced with the opportunity to make Romans my own. I will cast a shadower of a conqueror. That is all I have to say off the top of my head. As always, Seize The Night.

Smurf is clearly excited to return to leadership after reviving the army not too long ago. Both the army and their leaders are eager to witness the changes that will occur when Smurf implements his new program. It will be interesting to see how he adds a new twist to the original Club Penguin Army styled events. Will this new program launch the Romans above the rest of the small/medium armies? Can the new leader help the Romans attain the superpower status that the real life Roman Empire achieved?
