5. Elites Close With Record-Breaking Final Event
Written by: Kayles
Earlier this week, we saw the Elites host a record breaking closing event with a max of 63 penguins online. They scored third on the Top Ten major army listings for the week of 9/20-9/26, marking a historic closing for this generation. This marks the end of the 8th generation for Elites, which began on May 2nd, 2020 by LuciferStar, Simmonds2000, and Mythic. They continuously maxed around 30-40 penguins, and saw several other Top Ten listings since their revival. On September 13th, they announced their final event after they won the SubZero Showdown in the SubZero Army League. The reason for their closure was due to the rapid decrease in sizes, and the unavailability of staff owing to real-life commitments. The leaders decided it was best to close on a good note than to let their sizes drop. The Elites members were both shocked and upset at the news, as their closure was not anticipated. For their final event, they got 84 reactions, which was much higher than they would see on a weekly basis.
With note of the Elites closing, several armies rushed to try and claim their land. These invasions were deemed invalid since the army was not officially shut down, and they have not hosted their final event yet. Following their closure, they transferred their land to the Light Troops. Former leaders Simmonds2000 and Mythic joined the Light Troops leadership and AustinFraud joined as second-in-command. Many members went into other armies, including the Light Troops, Army of Club Penguin, or the Most Wanted Army. Other Elites staff and members retired and became army-less, as they cannot see another army to take the place of Elites in their hearts. The Elites were very meaningful to not only staff, but to their members as well, and even to the entire community, as we wish the 8th generation best of luck in their army career.

4. ‘War of Words’ Erupts between Ice Warriors, Dark Warriors and Doritos
Written by: Rosie
In early September, the Doritos of Club Penguin released an exposé on ‘The Warrior Alliance’, (the alliance between the Ice Warriors and the Dark Warriors.) This expose was released on September 6th, and featured many topics, including Ice Warriors slander on both current and former Doritos’ leaders, the Ice Warriors raid on Gokhan137’s stream, and alleged doxxing. This post caused outrage across the community, and it is safe to say that the Ice Warriors and the Dark Warriors were not pleased.
Less than 24 hours after the Doritos released their post, both the Ice Warriors and the Dark Warriors came out with posts of their own. The exposé that the Ice Warriors released, which has since been deleted, showed screenshots of several members of the Doritos, mainly accusing Meerkat and 32op of illicit behaviour. However, the Doritos weren’t finished yet. They released another post, addressing the accusations, and accusing the Ice Warriors leaders of further wrongdoings. All of this tension between the armies left the community wondering what would happen next, but all tension seemingly fizzled out within the next few days. As the Doritos have since shut down, it begs the question, will these issues ever arise again?

3. Water Viking-SWAT ‘Eagre Foray’ War Concludes After A Month Of Fighting
Written by: Caramel
On August 26th, the Water Vikings abruptly declared war on the Special Weapons and Tactics following tensions between the armies. In their declaration of war, the Vikings proceeded to list three options for SWAT if they desired to avoid war: they must transfer all their current servers to the Water Vikings, remove their leader and creator Ganger90 from all power within the army, or merge SWAT into the Vikings. All of these options along with the proceeding war terms were rejected, and the Water Vikings successfully invaded Cream Soda on August 27th with a 2-0-1 score, ending the first day of the war in the Vikings’ favor. Following this eventful day, the Water Vikings and SWAT continued to participate in a month-long war known as the ‘Eagre Foray’ in which both armies constantly invaded and defended numerous servers in hopes of winning the war.
Around a month after the declaration of war, the Water Vikings successfully invaded one of SWAT’s remaining servers, Skates, on September 27th. However, only moments before the results for Skates were announced, the Special Weapons and Tactics shockingly transferred all of their remaining land to the Dark Warriors, thus ending the long and hard fought war between themselves and the Water Vikings. Later on the same day, Viking leader Pjayo announced a forced treaty set to expire on January 1st of 2021 with multiple terms. After losing the thrilling but tiring war between them and the Vikings, what lies in store for the Special Weapons and Tactics next? How will they cope with the terms of the treaty?

2. The Doritos Shutdown
Written by: Myth
Just days ago the community witnessed yet another army closure and victim of the infamous ‘September Drop’: this time the Doritos of Club Penguin. The Doritos were created in 2010 by Wwebestfan, and since, the army has grown tremendously in size, engaging in many conflicts, and reaching peaks of 70+ during their most recent era. Their closure resulted from the staff and leaders having real-life concerns and responsibilities. A final event was held on Sunday 27th and saw them reach a total of 71 penguins, bringing an amazing end to the historic army. After the event, leaders Rah and Maroon received the ‘Doritos Legend’ title for their hard work and dedication to the army.

1. Prior Bumble Retires From Recon Federation Following SupremeP0wer’s Expose
Written by: Kally
On September 19th, the army community was shook up by yet another exposé, this time targeting the Recon Federation’s creator and leader, Prior Bumble. The infamous leader was accused of a plethora of illicit and morally questionable allegations. All of this sensitive information, including extensive photo evidence, was revealed on a dedicated website, created by SupremeP0wer, a former Recon Federation Higher Command member. Following an incident between Shallissa and Prior Bumble, he then decided to start collecting sensitive material on the leader, aiming to expose all of his wrong-doings later on. After leaving the RFCP for Templars in September, SupremeP0wer then released the website to the public. On said site, he explains that he wishes “to expose Prior Bumble for what he has done,” and for “the community to be aware of what he has been hiding and what kind of [a] person he truly is.”
Just a couple days beforehand, the Recon Federation were celebrating Prior Bumble becoming a newly inducted CP Army Legend. This prestigious award was later removed, and following the exposé, the leader announced his retirement from the army community. Prior Bumble was the sole creator of the Recon Federation, creating it June 2019. The army and its’ infamous leader were often involved in controversies and wars, but never backed down and even topped the small-medium Top Ten on multiple occasions. According to Prior Bumble himself, the retirement had been pre-planned, and had nothing to do with SupremeP0wer’s website. In addition to this, he said to have “no regrets [on] how [he] led this great army” and that he has “no apologies.” With one leader stepping down, another rises, and Prior Bumble’s spot has since then been filled by Coolj. Lately, the Recon Federation has risen to third on the small-medium Top Ten.
